Dana Netherton
1st Grade Teacher
Dana Netherton began her 30th year in eduation during the 2023 - 2024 school year. She spent 7 years teaching in Fort Smith, Arkansas, before moving to Louisville Kentucky in 2001. She spent 5 years teaching kindergarten and 25 years teaching first grade. Througnhout the years, Dana has been involved with music ministries, youth ministry, women's minstry, and Christ Care groups, yearbook, library and Bible study.
She grew up in a churchwork family, her father was a teacher and a director of Christian education (DCE) and her mother was a teacher and music director. Dana's extended family includes 10 other church workers. Thus, Dana chose to be a 3rd generation Lutheran educator.
Her passions have become teaching art, teaching reading and teaching the love of Jesus. These passions have been shared with countless students and families, throughout her thirty years of teaching. Her hobbies include playing flute, sewing, painting, reading and photography.
She is married to Doug Netherton who works maintenance for Lynn Family Stadium and field maintenance at Slugger Field. Together they have a daughter Emily and a son Michael. Both children are alumni of Our Savior Lutheran School.
